About me

Madrones are some of my favorite trees, symbolizing the rain and beauty of the West Coast, from Northern California to Washington (and British Columbia, too), where I've lived most of my life.

I’m a believer in sonder—the idea that each random passerby is living a life as vivid and complex as your own. Everyone has a story to tell and has a unique voice, my years as a bartender have taught me that.

I've done it all in the publishing world, after more than 15 years: running a team of writers to assign and developmentally edit stories, wordsmithing as a line and copy editor, as well as proofreading, formatting, and typesetting.

I have a journalistic background, specializing in explainer articles that break down complex topics or show how a process works into an easy-to-digest way.

I’ve worked in a variety of fields with all kinds of writers: health, science, tech, SEO, and also music. Check out my LinkedIn for more on my professional experience.

Other jobs and hobbies I’ve had outside of editing: farmer, sailor, bartender, handyman, film projectionist, musician, hiker, and more.

I lived up and down the West Coast, with some time in the Caribbean and New England.

When not editing, I’m usually exploring the beauty of the Northwest or travelling far and wide.
